Summer window 2016 we needed a striker and got Ding dong. Fast forward winter 2018 we need a striker, so far we have got lulu, unless finger cross.

Watford were interested in Ndong before they sacked Marco Silva last week and new boss Javier Gracia is happy to make him his first signing.
They are expected to lodge a formal bid for the Gabon midfielder early next week with the transfer deadline fast approaching.
West Ham have also asked about Ndong's availability as David Moyes looks to add depth to his midfield options before the window shuts.

Re: Transfers Deadline Day Thread

Sunderland won't be signing Chris Martin on loan from Derby County. The Black Cats have pulled out of the deal for the Rams striker following delays from Martin over a decision. He flew to Dubai with the Derby squad for a five-day training camp last week and Sunderland were expecting an answer on his return. Sunderland have already moved on to other targets. Promising Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha is a target. The 19-year-old made his first-team debut for Pep Guardiola against Leicester in the Carabao Cup last month and is said to be available for loan despite an injury concern. It comes as Coleman has revealed he is closing in on his third signing of the window, though the new player isn't expected to arrive on Wearside until Wednesday. As well as a striker, Coleman is still in the market for an attacking midfielder as well as at least one striker, while the club could also move for a goalkeeper before the deadline. Leeds United shot-stoper Andy Lonergan remains their main target but they were also linked with a move for Middlesbrough veteran Dimi Konstantopoulos over the weekend.

FFS get a move on... I suppose it is always like this but worse when you have no funds.

If a striker doesn't happen we probably should have hung onto Vaughan... better than nowt

Has Grabban actually gone to anybody yet? As Brighton have signed Ulloa he may be even further down the pecking order.

Good job you are not a manager as you prefer an empty space to somebody who at least put himself about and the young ones could have fed off.

Vaughan is not and was not like Roswell who was a negative drag on the team and performance when he was on the pitch.

It is not required that you support CC over everyhing,  he will make mistakes, we all do.

If Bane does succeed in bringing in one of Cookies striking targets all is well.

I may not be the manager but I do listen to him but tell me where I suggest an empty space? Your idea seems to be call a player when he is here and call Vaughan you did then call the manager for selling him.
My nowt comment was a tongue in cheek reply to your post.

SAFC close to third signing

Coleman said: "I think we are 99 per cent certain there will be one between now and Wednesday. The game is tomorrow so out of respect of the player and club, there is nothing we can say until it is agreed.
"That wont happen until Wednesday morning subject to medicals. Still hoping and praying their will be one more."

Coleman said: "We are trying to add in this two days, I'd imagine definitely one, hopefully two.
"I say 99 per cent certain, everything is agreed. The window is really frustrating."

Coleman hints incoming player will be a striker

"I have bought Kaz here to play as a two down the middle because of his pace.
"Joel Asoro and Josh Maja need some support. Along with Kaz we need one up there in the middle, that answers your question earlier!
"I see Kaz, when he is 100 per cent fit, playing down the middle for us."

If CC sees this guy as the attacking midfielder we desperately need as opposed to a winger that we do not.. that makes sense

We’re told Brendan Galloway has informed Everton he wants to end his loan at Sunderland and return to former club MK Dons for the rest of the season.
