I am actually looking forward to it too. Sometimes when the chips are down, when we have few options, SAFC surprises you. I am hoping this will be one of those times.

We love our daughter and grandchildren dearly but living with them for the last four weeks full time has been more than exhausting and Mr H and I are both looking forward to getting back to 'normality'. Taking them to the airport at 3am tomorrow morning, with the rest of Friday and the weekend "recovering" pint

So we will be watching in comfort sitting on the sofa, revelling in the peace and quiet, without anyone screaming or demanding attention (and thats only Mr H, never mind the grandchildren Laughing )

Now we will probably come down with this damn 'flu! tongue

Try having the grandkids with you permanently (We hope). The 4 year old goes into my desk and I have have to take the gizmo for internet banking and blood pressure monitor etc and hide them. I have a little visitor often a 1.30 am wanting a drink and wee. Changing nappies is never fun.

In half an hour as dad puts the boy to bed I will be giving the girl her bedtime bottle hoping she goes to sleep. The rest of the evening is my own.

I feel your pain! I know you love them and only want the best for them but it doesn't stop you thinking - I have been there and done that 30 years ago and really feel too old to do it now

We had ours full time last year for 5 months and it was so tiring. Yes, the little face right up to yours in the middle of the night that gives you a heart attack is always great Shocked

@RichMennearJP
Aiden McGeady and Paddy McNair both out of the trip to Cardiff City too. Cattermole has trained but not ready to start, Coleman will make decision over Ndong's possible involvement later. [ltr]#SAFC[/ltr]

Re: Cardiff City v Sunderland--Match Day Thread

Post  cyprussyd on 2018-01-13, 9:08 am

Well it's match day again for the dwindling numbers who still get excited.even the Coxhoe branch secretary has decided against this trip, never known before so things must be getting bad.

Maybe I'm just a foolish optimism but Coleman is getting me excited with his determination to change things, a lack of funds mean he cant change things the way he would like to but change things he is. Vaughan and Mika's departure will be the first of many and hopefully more players will arrive, yes on loan but they will hopefully bring the change in attitude so badly needed.

But today we are again dictated to by injuries and the new man will come in to a three man defence with Wilson again moving to the defensive midfielder role and I expect to see Ethan Robson keep his place.

Maja seems our only option up front and with McGready out will Asoro start?

Any positive result will be hard fought and a surprise but the one thing Sunderland are good at is surprising us, normally bad surprises but maybe today will be a good one.

Not sure why Jones prefer Matthews.

The side by and large picks itself with injuries etc.

Strange but maybe CC sees Jones as a more physical prescence or Matthews carrying an Injury.
