Re: SUNDERLAND V FULHAM--The Match Day Thread
Grabban does score but does little else, he even does not like to head a ball.. but we need his goals
With the injuries and with Catts suspended the only change from the starting 11 last week (who kept a clean sheet) will be a new midfielder... Syd may well have got it right
We will know at 2.00pm

Re: SUNDERLAND V FULHAM--The Match Day Thread
o you think Sunderland's winless home run is something new?
Back in 2005-06 they ended an 18 league game barren streak by beating today's opponents Fulham. Is that an omen?
Anyone also remember who Fulham's manager was that night?

How do Sunderland end their home hoodoo? Manager, forward and club legend have their say
Sunderland have to beat Fulham today to avoid going a full year without a home victory at the Stadium of Light.

Well that’s it off to the mad House for dinner then on to the match for cheeseburgers and chips.
Hopefully we are celebrating two things tonight 3 points and out of the bottom three.

That was the replay after the game abandoned due to the snow. My daughter reminded me that Rory Delap (??) broke his nose after a collision with another player due to the conditions. There was blood everywhere! Then the snow just got heavier and the ref said enough is enough soon after that. Coleman was manager of Fulham then.cyprussyd wrote:o you think Sunderland's winless home run is something new?

Whatever the omens we need fairy godmothers and 99 black cats today and a visit from Santa even, but a win is essential.

364 days between home wins! But yes, great credit to Coleman. Made a brave decision exactly when it was needed.Mackemneil wrote:At last![]()

And well done to young Josh Maja, 5 minutes into your debut and you score one of the most important goals you will ever score in your life. And cool as a cucumber by all accounts

And well done to all who went to the SOL and really got behind the players. You all sounded brilliant on radio

Happy in Seahouses tonight

3 points, out of the bottom 3 and started with two up front! It worked more or less.

It's a much needed little lift but got rid of a miserable feeling that has dogged us too long - or did Jerry the Christmas Fairy worked her magic?
