For anyone who hasn't taken part, I can assure you that walking football is not for the faint hearted. Over the past year our group has lost quite a few players, either through injury or because they were simply unable to manage the 50 minutes or so that the game lasts.

We probably put more effort in (relatively speaking) than the pros and no-one can be accused of shirking!!

I am sure its a great thing for socialising and keeping fit in the 'sunset' years (shall we say) but I always think of that episode in Father Ted with the over 75's football team. It makes me cry wth laughter whenever I see it! Laughing

That's not a phrase we recognise, in fact I think sunrise years would be more appropriate for some of our players who are convinced a professional career is still a possibility !!
