The short term challenge

Post  cyprussyd on 2017-11-21, 7:37 am

Injuries and squad additions we can do little about until January so the short term target must be to at least be in touch come January 1st, to do that we need all we can get from..

Villa away
Burton away
Reading home
Wolves away
Fulham home
Birmingham home
Sheffield U away
Forest away

24 points to play for but even an eternal optimist like me is not expecting all 24 but we must start by targeting the 9 to play for at home.

Our away games look anything but easy, over to you Cookie.

Your positivity is slipping a tad, pre season looking at that list, I and you and many more i would guess would think nothing much to be afraid of there. 1 defeat at most a couple of draws and 5 wins, easy peasy.

The Championship has always been a strange league where any team can beat any other team on any given day. League positions mean absolutely nothing, the bottom team can visit the top team and get a result.

Just look at the prediction league if you don't believe me

Shoot me down Syd for raining on your parade BUT a 9 point haul equals relegation last season in the EFL.

If your interested a minimum 12 is required from your 8 matches as in 1.41 per game for the rest of the season. Obviously with each draw or loss this requirement goes up or down.

Ps. Love the new meme

yes, we need to win every other game to reach about 50 points....

It has to start with home matches surely..

By the way, a loss at Burton is unthinkable ?

Yes I will shoot you down because I did not say 9 points is what is needed, what I did say is we need to target all 9 points from our three home games then add on what we can realistically get from the away games.

Stay in touch, add in a couple of new recruits then go into the new year.

Sorry, please do excuse me for the misunderstanding. I stand corrected, target not need.

However since we’re on a record setting run that who knows how long will last, I guess it’s perfectly conceivable to believe we can follow it up by setting another for the most consecutive matches won in a row.
