The last chance saloon, again

Post  cyprussyd on 2017-11-15, 9:25 am

With the latest name certain to be offered the manager's job, Paul Heckingbottom, following on from certainties Kraka, McCoist, Redknapp and Reid Bain can be under no illusions that he and the club really are in the last chance saloon.

A massive and for many impossible job lies ahead and whoever it is needs to hit the ground running.

Following Millwall on Saturday we have two away games at Villa and Burton, to come away from these three games with 3 points or less could well see us cut adrift and the new man under great pressure from the start and could we even consider sacking another manager?

We have 9 more games this year and those 9 games can lift the gloom and lift us up the table but, they could also see us all but stuffed with dwindling crowds almost evaporate.

We can either go into the January window with a positive message to new recruits or a message so bad that even Gareth Hall would turn us down.

Now I know that you all know all of this, let's hope the penny has dropped with the powers that be and we make the right choice but that we also back him. I dont expect tens of millions but surely we must cough up a few million at least.

Don't think we have ever had a great escape this early in the season.

The one thing that really worries me is that the eternal optimist is starting to get gloomy... we are definitely in trouble

A Christmas carol springs to mind, can you guess ?

I have no doubt that our squad is good enough to finish mid table but they need to show it and more than anything we must get behind the manager. Easier said than done I know.

Thank goodness if I'm reading that correctly. After this seasons and next's relegation we won't be relegated again  Laughing
