Is Benno right?

Post  cyprussyd on 2017-09-09, 7:46 pm

Listening to BBC Newcastle on the way to the match and benno made a comment that I think hit the nail on the head.
"the opposition know to hold tight for 20-25 mins, the fans will begin to grumble and get on players backs. At that point confidence drops and then they go for it."
We need to stay behind the lads and not on them until the final whistle goes.
Yes everyone is entitled to an opinion and pay to have that opinion at the game but it can't be a coincidence that we haven't won at home since December. The away support is completely different to a home support and we seem to do better away.
Hopefully the players give us something to cheer today! HAWAY THE LADS /Nicky

The problem is not the fans

The problem is we need at least two goal scorers.. .I cannot recall their keeper making one save. The stats say we had one shot on target.

The side lacks quality in several areas.... that is the problem

Would that be the same away support who have had enough and were booing the team off at Barnsley?

Don't think Benno's wrong, but as I gave up listening to his commentary because I couldn't bear his constant criticism and negativity, don't think he's got any right to criticise the fans.
That said, I don't get booing our players during the match
What does anyone think it will achieve?
Yes Rodwell is piss poor, but booing him during a game isn't going to improve him
Also, it probably stopped Grayson subbing him
Taking him off knowing it would be to a cacophony of booing?
Whatever Grayson had wanted to do, pleased he didn't put Rodwell through that.

As an aside, was listening to commentary of the England game on R5 during the week
Phil Neville was the summariser
He was excellent - positive without being ra ra England and rational in his criticism
Maybe Benno could sign up for some lessons from him.

Easy to analyse a winning team playing half decent ish football than a team playing like strangers who don't give a shit and rarely win. There are only so many positives you can trot out after yet another defeat.

They are strangers and the they don't give a shot is easy to trot out but IMO untrue

Your opinion mate however wrong I think it is just my opinion.
They should not be strangers they train most days of the week, or do they just huddle in little groups not talking to each other? If they did give a shit we would see a bit more determination and work rate on Tuesday. If that happens then yes they do give a shit however we will see on Tuesday.
