Being upset by your football team pales into insignificance. Sorry I can only post the link!

Meningitis is a terrible disease,I have first hand experience of it...one of my grandaughter's lost a foot, three toes off the other and has disfigured legs because of it...I remember around the time it happened we were all feeling upset about it when a feature on the local news came on and a little girl who had lost her hands and feet, just like this little girl, was featured, we then thought how lucky our grandaughter had been...heart breaking whenever I hear about anyone, especially young children who contract this disease...they say they have a vaccine now,if it's true it should be given just like the mumps, measles and rubella is

Sorry to hear about your grand daughter OBC, it must be very hard for you all.

They do now give all UK babies Meningitis B vaccine with their other vaccinations, but there is no catch up prgramme for those born before they introduced  this in September 2015, so older children are still at risk. Plus it does not cover all forms of meningitis so parents still need to be vigilant.
