Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon are tracking Sunderland’s Jack Rodwell, according to reports this morning.
Lisbon are set to sell William Carvalho to West Ham, and reports suggest they will look to Rodwell as his replacement.
The former Everton and Manchester City man has played for England three times - but his career on Wearside has been blighted by injuries.
While the Black Cats may struggle to recoup the £10m they paid for him, any boost to Simon Grayson’s coffers is unlikely to be turned down.

The continental game may suit him, i wish the lad well. Not his fault we signed him on and kept him on silly wages.

Not blighted by injuries with us blighted by lack of ability.

I reckon we will be lucky to get anything but we will release his wages and thats the main barrier to getting new players in.

Another Irish big tits f*ck up.
Well done Maggie.

Well, he'll find his level one day Dave.
Probably on the bench for Gateshead or something like that.

Well, let's face facts.
Even if Gateshead did sign him they'd probably loan him out to Dunston Excelsior Club.
