Report: Sunderland target Lincoln City's FA Cup hero Sean Raggett

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] proved in last season's FA Cup that he could handle himself at a higher level - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] are keen to test him out on a more regular basis.

Lincoln City’s remarkable run to the quarter finals of the FA Cup was always going to come with one particular drawback. That their key men would attract attention from clubs from far higher up the footballing pyramid.
Yet, while strapping frontman Matt Rhead and energetic midfielder Alex Woodyard have remained with The [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] following their promotion to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] last season, it appears that centre-back Sean Raggett (below, far right) looks the most likely to bid farewell to Sincill Bank.

The report adds that a number of Premier League and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] teams, including West Ham, West Brom and Norwich City, have been tracking Raggett’s progress after he burst onto the scene with an 89th minute winner as Lincoln stunned Burnley at Turf Moor in the FA Cup fifth round in February.
And the defender, who has a release clause in his current contract, could find himself playing at a far higher level sooner rather than later. His addition would be welcomed in Sunderland’s backline, with Lamine Kone (below) still expected to depart before the end of the transfer window, Paddy McNair suffering with injuries, Papy Djilobodji yet to convince and John O’Shea’s best day’s behind him.
The [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] are hardly awash with disposable funds, spending only minimal amounts on new players this summer, but Raggett is not likely to break the bank.

[size=59]Report: West Ham United target Sean Raggett available for just £350,000[/size]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] United and Norwich City target Sean Raggett is available for just £350,000 this summer.
Lincoln City are resigned to losing the centre-back, who has been a star for them this season.
The Imps earned promotion to League Two, with Raggett playing a starring role.
However, his form has alerted the attentions of clubs higher up the footballing pyramid - with West Ham and Norwich both linked.
Lincoln have put a £350,000 price tag on Raggett, but that is unlikely to put off either West Ham or Norwich, who will invest this summer.

Raggett would be unlikely to break straight into Norwich or West Ham’s team, if he was to make the move this summer, with both clubs seeing him as one for the future.

I still expect 2/3 in before the window closes but the key is either Khazri or Kone leaving to free up wages.

A condition of sale of either is that the buyer must take Rodders or Dilli with them Very Happy

An even better clause to be inserted into the sale contract. If they need a lift 40,000 fans will give them a lift

With Roders pay packet, I don't think he is that bad a player and Didies performances I think we are stuck with both

[size=59]Report: West Ham United and Sunderland miss out as Sean Raggett moves to Norwich City[/size]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] are both set to miss out to Norwich City in the race for [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] from Lincoln City.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
Raggett has been one of the most in demand players in the lower leagues, after a hugely impressive campaign last time out.
The powerful centre-back played a key role as Lincoln got promoted from the National League and went on a lengthy FA Cup run.
And Sunderland, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and Norwich were among the leading candidates to take the centre-back.
It seems that the Canaries have come out on top in the race for the 23-year-old’s signature, and he is likely to move to Carrow Road in the near future.
West Ham and Sunderland, meanwhile, may have to look elsewhere for defensive cover.
Raggett was unlikely to start at either West Ham or Sunderland, but he would have strengthened the defensive options at both clubs
