The back line

Post  cyprussyd on 2017-07-17, 12:07 pm

I think we are all looking for strikers to be signed but, maybe that's not the priority.

The St Johnson game reminded us all what we knew anyway, it's no good scoring 3 goals if we let 4 in.

We dont know how good the two lads from Everton are but we do know that Djilobodjy can be a risk, O'Shea is knocking on and Kone has no interest in being here.

With the kick off approaching fast and only 4 friendlies left is it time for Grayson to ditch those who want out, play the team he sees as his starting 11 and firm up our best team.

Bring in..

2 centre backs
At least one more striker
And maybe a keeper

Well, we have the reality check that our players are not of premier quality, but they don't have to be....

Mr short has a lot to answer for in terms of how far he's took us back. Well, in terms of everything really. I cant think of one example where his tenure has had a positive effect......not one.

Bye bye Mannone
Bye bye Kone
Bye bye Bodge it
and I would of liked bye bye OShea ,,,,

Bye bye Plodwell
Bye bye Lens

We do not seem to have 'moved' much shit on yet . Borini , Larsson  25% of the crap gone in my mind , and I know many of you would also add Catts .

Mr Grayson I know it isn't easy but this lot will fek up your tenure ,,,, be very very sure of that they are fecking useless and mercenary twats .

Welcome lexi090, to our friendly little forum.

Re the OP, keeper issue sorted and now, after Friday, I wonder if keeping Kone is the better answer to the CB problem. Better the devil you know?  And still need a natural goal scorer as Vaughan is not it! Very Happy

Hear what you all say, but if Kone pulls his finger out like he did v. Derby, perhaps he is the best of the options open.

Even if he has decided he's going, then perhaps he thinks the best way is to put in decent performances in the 1st team

so we can sell him to an EPL club with the bonus of a decent price.

That is my thought too.

I'm sure Kone will be gone by end of August..

Jagielka has been given  an extension to his Everton contract, so he's probably not available.

Aden Flint (Bristol City) is a name which keeps cropping up..

Kone has finally realised that if he plays well he will get the move he wants, good for us sort of as we get cash for a player who lets face it doesn't want to be here and we hopefully get time to get in a replacement.
