Just back from Bradleys farewell --The Bradley Lowery Thread

Post  cyprussyd on Sat Jun 03, 2017 1:38 pm

Bradley lowery's fight against neuroblastoma
3 mins ·
[size=12]Sorry for the lack of updates Iv needed some time to digest some information.
Bradley has been having radio therapy to help control the pain he was having in his leg. This has helped but unfortunately pain has started else where now due to tumours growing all over.
On Thursday after Bradley's last radio he took poorly and his saturation levels where very low (this is the amount of oxygen he is getting into his body), because we weren't at the RVI where he is normally treated the nurse had to get an ambulance to blue light him there.
Once we were there Bradley's consultant checked him over and sent him for a chest x Ray. The results were devastating, all of Bradley's tumours have grown really fast. The reason his oxygen levels are low is because there isn't much room in his lungs now. I was told Bradley has now only got weeks to live because of how rapid the cancer is spreading.
Yes I knew this was coming but I thought it was going to be months not weeks. My heart is broken in two, it is too soon for this to happen, it should never be happening to start with. My baby has had to put up with so much over the past 4 years and now he has to suffer a painful death. How is that fair??? Why should any parent have to be put through this heart ache???

Just awful and even though not unexpected it is still very painful.

Bradley you are a star, a beacon, a shining light and you will never be forgotten!   Sad

Being a bit brutal here maybe but, it's not curable no matter how much money we throw at it so, unfortunately for the lad it was inevitable.
My dad has stage 3b lung cancer and bowel cancer so I do have a bit of an insight into this, before anyone tries to grief me.
ps yes I do feel for the lad he has seen and done nothing in what will be a far too short life.

Really sad news, my heart goes out to the family who must be devastated. Inevitable yes but you always hope for a miracle.

At least they have some wonderful memories to treasure, and all the money that has been raised will go towards research for better treatments. In the 1960s childhood leukaemia was virtually incurable but now over 85% have 5 year survival rates and that's mostly down to charitable donations for research.

I cant see how anyone can say anything but sorry for you and your dad and family.

Bradley has touched many hearts with his smile and his courage and yes he is one of far to many who are suffering each and every day.

Good luck and you have my love and thoughts Talc

Cheers mate but am resigned to the fact that he won't be here for his next birthday. Not sure how bad 3 b is to be honest guessing not great. It at least my dad has seen some of the world and done stuff that Bradley won't get the chance to that is what really pisses me off more than anything.

You might be surprised Talc as there are new immunotherapy treatments that are getting good results. I know how difficult it is to cope with this cruel disease, and my thoughts are with you and everyone with a loved one suffering the effects of cancer.

Keep strong talc & make the most of what time you have left together by spending as much of it as you can together. Memories are forever wherever life takes you.

Bradley is deteriorating fast, his temperature is going very high his breathing very fast his oxygen levels low. He is sleeping most the time apart from odd times awake. We knew this was coming but we are heart broken beyond words. We have been told he could be like this for days it just depends on him and his body [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][size=0]
