Brendan Joel Zibusiso Galloway (born 17 March 1996) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Championship club Sunderland, on loan from Everton, and England U21.

Milton Keynes Dons[edit]

Brendan Galloway was born in Harare, Zimbabwe on 17 March 1996,[1] and moved to England with his family when he was six years old.[3] He started playing for Milton Keynes Dons when he joined the club's under-11 side.[4]
He became the youngest first-team player in Milton Keynes Dons' history at 15 years of age after making his debut as a 79th-minute substitute in a 6–0 victory at home to Nantwich Town in the FA Cup first roundon 12 November 2011.[5] He made his league début after starting for MK Dons in a 2–1 victory at Rochdale on 28 April 2012.[5] He scored his first senior goal for MK Dons in their 4–1 win over Halifax Town on 9 November 2013.[6]

Everton[edit]

In August 2014 Everton signed Galloway for an undisclosed fee on a five-year contract.[7] He spent the majority of the season playing for the under-21 side until the very latter stage of the league campaign. Galloway was given a chance and made his début for the senior side in Everton's 2–1 away win against West Ham United on 16 May 2015.[8] He played at left back in the game. On the last day of the 2014–15 season, Galloway turned out for his senior home début against Tottenham Hotspur.
On the opening day of the 2015–16 season, as regular left back Leighton Baines suffered an ankle injury in training and Luke Garbutt had joined Fulham on loan, Galloway started Everton's match against Watford.[9][10]
Galloway agreed a new contract with Everton on 10 December 2015 and is now contracted to the club until at least June 2020.[11]

Loan to West Bromwich Albion[edit]

On 22 August 2016, Galloway joined West Bromwich Albion on a season-long loan.[12] Galloway made his first league start for West Brom on 28 August 2016 against Middlesbrough. On 10 April 2017, Galloway was recalled by Everton. It was reported that Galloway had been given permission to return to Everton early even he remained registered with West Bromwich Albion who paid £1m to take him on loan for the campaign. [13]

International career[edit]

Galloway is eligible to play for Zimbabwe or England.[3] He was named in the England U-17 squad for the Nordic Under-17 Football Championship in 2012 by Kenny Swain.[14] His first match for England was against the Faroe Islands in August 2012.[15] He represented England in the 2014 UEFA Under-19 Championship qualifying campaign.[16]
In 2016, Zimbabwe approached Galloway to play for them in the 2017 African Cup of Nations but Galloway chose to remain part of the England U21 set up.[17][18]

Sunderland Secure This Exciting Everton Youngster on Loan: Can He Stabilise The Defence?
Sunderland have been looking to make a strong start to the new season and are looking to bring in some new players into the team in order to stabilise the squad and get a good season underway. The Black Cats have been wary of their disappointing performance in the last season, which saw them get relegated to the Championship, and are looking to turn the tables this term and find a way back to the top tier.
After the departure of their former boss David Moyes, Sunderland were struck with lethal blows, as they had to let go of their inspirational striker Jermain Defoe to Premier League side Bournemouth and their young goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was picked up by the Merseyside club Everton this summer. However, the Black Cats are looking to rebuild their side and are into the transfer market for reinforcements and have already found their first one in the form of Brendan Galloway, who is coming into the side on a season-long loan.
The Everton defender has been one of the players who have not got many chances to play in the first team with his former clubs, both Everton and West Bromwich Albion, where he went in the last season on loan. He made only five appearances for the Baggies under their coach Tony Pulis and has come back to the Merseyside.
The English youngster has represented his country at the under 17, under 18 and under 19 levels and has been one of the players who have been termed to have the capacity of becoming a star for his national side by a number of football pundits. The 21-year-old is in desperate need for first team football and the Wearside club might be the perfect place for him to forge a bright future.
The current Sunderland manager, Simon Grayson, is well aware of the challenges that he will have to face in the long season in the Sky Bet Championship and is trying to bring in players who can take the hectic schedule head on to make the season a successful one for the club. The former coach of Preston North End is also wary of the defensive lapses that Sunderland showed in the last season, which cost them their place in the Premier League and has already started his venture to stabilise it by bringing in one of the most highly rated young defenders in the country.
The Everton left-back has appeared 19 times for the senior team during his stay at the Merseyside club so far.

Hopefully we have an option to buy him if he turns out to be any good or have our negotiating team not put that one in again.
