Predictions are looking favourable.  A hung Parliament could lead to a coalition until after Brexit.

Tess may have cooked her goose though.

Regardless of the results I have to admit I have come to admire Corbyn as a debater, orator and man.  A quiet man with a huge power of persuasion.

Just out of interest I have followed some the latest on CNN and their pundits are saying that the ordinary people are fighting back against the Elitist of the Elite who forced Brexit on them.

They are American of course.

Another point has just hit me:  Would the Tories dare to form another coalition with the LibDems given that Brexit is looming?

Never resorted to personal attacks and always dealt with all the crap thrown at him with graciousness, showing more strength than Teresa May ever could. I have always thought he was a much better politician, than he ever got credit for. And he has always been consistent, no u turns from him, just a constant positive message of hope over fear and a burning desire for social justice and equality.

I am already over the moon (a very full moon outside my window right now!) and will be ecstatic if this exit poll turns out to be anywhere near the final results Very Happy

Well all that fuss & rhetoric & none of you can be arsed to comment on the result.  Suspect
My opinion is they will do a deal with the DUP which will take May over the line.
I expect another election by early next year.

May has been a car crash & has left the country in uncertainty & disarray.
Strong & stable. Laughing

Re: General Election, results

Post  Hieronymus on 2017-06-09, 10:27 am

Haven't commented till now as I have just got up as stayed awake till 5:30am watching the results!

Yes she is planning on a deal with DUP to form a government (ironic given all the crap thrown at JC about his Irish friends eh?) but how can this be strong or stable, and how can this give her the mandate to take us through Brexit negotiations? The EU leaders must be pissing themselves at the mess she has gotten herself into. But the real losers are us, the British people, who have even more uncertainty ahead.

There will have to be another election late in the autumn I would suggest, but before that there will be a leadership challenge in the Tory Party, which I suspect leaves everyone's favourite buffoon, Boris Johnson, in pole position. What a shower eh? Very Happy

The best thing from last night really is that Corbyn's approach of a consistent, positive message of hope not fear, social justice and eliminating inequality rather than austerity, without personal attacks, has got through to so many people. Now there are even more voters out there who will think, you know what, maybe we should give the Labour party a chance as the Tories have shown they are not capable of galvanising the country.

Interesting times indeed Very Happy
