Pre Season

Post  cyprussyd on 2017-06-06, 9:37 pm

Sunderland will head north of the border this pre-season to take on Hibernian on Sunday 9 July (KO 2pm).

The Black Cats will face the Scottish Premier League side in a testimonial game for long-serving player Lewis Stevenson, who made his debut in 2005 in a Scottish League Cup tie at Ayr United.
Proceeds from the match will be shared by various charities chosen by Stevenson, including Cardiac Risk in the Young and Leith Links.

Managed by former Celtic player Neil Lennon, Hibs won the Scottish Championship at a canter last season picking up 71 points from 36 games, and losing on just three occasions.
And Lennon’s side also featured in the UEFA Europa League qualifying stages last year, while also making it to the Scottish Cup semi-finals.
The trip to Easter Road will take place following Sunderland’s pre-season opener against Bury at Gigg Lane.
Ticket information will be confirmed in due course.

PRE-SEASON SCHEDULE
7 July - Bury v Sunderland
9 July - Hibernian v Sunderland

There's a good chance we still won't have a manager by the time those games kick off until then I'll temper mt excitement.
