Giggs ??

Post  mackem72 on 2017-05-31, 2:38 pm

Bookies have got Ryan Giggs as odds on favourite to get our manager job.

If he can manage as well as he played we'll be laughing but as yet talents are completely unknown.

Whats peoples verdict ?

Not for me, if we are going for inexperienced manager I would prefer Phillips.

I'd love to see Phillips come and lead us better than we have been for years but on other hand I'd always be nervy of him doing a crap job and tainting our memory of how good he was as a player for us.

Personally nothing would tarnish his memory.
The reason I would pick Phillips over Giggs is, Phillips has experience working with lesser players where as Giggs has only worked with top class players.
To defeat my own argument so had Keane and he did ok in the championship for us.

Not my favourite choice if I am honest but most managers know coming to us is a poisoned chalice so we may not have much choice in the end Sad

Mind if Giggs is appointed I don't suppose Sid MCFC will ever post again! Razz

For your sakes, I hope Giggs has other "gigs" that he fancies, he needs to learn from the bottom, Salford FC would be his ideal starting point!

Hahaha. I will, but through gritted teeth!!

Not sure he would be the right choice for you though.  Not all good footballers (well reasonably OK footballers Rolling Eyes)  do well as managers.

Not sure who to suggest but I do think it needs or be somebody who has been through the mill and knows or better still has worked with players that are capable of getting you out of there asap.
Giggs dosnt seem to fit the bill.  Sorry H I know he's handsome but that's what his Sister in Law thought as well!  (Couldn't resist that:) )

I don't see much wrong with Walter Mazzarri personally. He did well at Watford and has a good pedigree on the Continent.

And he talks Geordie, I have heard him.

It's certainly not English that he speaks and he has made no attempt to learn! Most of my Watford friends are happy to see him go!
