Osama_bin_Laden - Al-Qaeda - ISIS

Post  cyprussyd on 2017-05-23, 12:17 pm

It seems only a short time since Osama bin Laden was public enemy number 1 and Al Qaeda was the enemy.

Then ISIS made the news, a group of extremists with a warped ideology and barbaric methods of kidnap and beheadings.

It all seemed so far away and in the naive world I live in it seemed so easy to deal with. We had an enemy in a far off country who we could simply take on and defeat.

But how do we defeat the lone wolf?
How do we guard against it? A man woman or even child from anywhere attacking at any time in any location.

This week and every week groups and crowds will gather, concerts, sporting events, shopping centres, town centres, bars, restaurants, celebrations, parties, the beach, the park.

How on earth do the security services deal with it?

How have we managed to create such a monster?

I don't have answers, do you?

Well, the IRA bombed Manchester city centre in 1996. (causing £700 million pounds of damage.

At the time my daughter was living there, not long having finished Uni...

It was a sickening feeling for us up here until we knew she was safe..

My biggest hope is that there is an afterlife so these suicide-bombing twats realise they were conned when they land in hell!

Karma!   like
