Transfer pot.....

Post  silvers on 2017-05-04, 12:27 am

Just a few ramblings from Silvers...

Sooo, we have been relegated to the fizzy pop league.

Result - widescale redundancies of admin and services plus probable HUGE reduction in the wages bill.

But - we will have £100m  from finishing bottom (probably)

Short's choices
1  The savings are given to the manager for a transfer pot (probably how the toon did it)
2  The savings are used to finance or reduce the debt
3 The savings find their way to Texas...

Interesting times ahead - once again.

No good us thinking that he really MUST invest in the squad. After all he didn't last year and he had two chances to do so.

I hope I am pleasantly surprised come July

Very Happy

I think Moyes decision in a few weeks will go a long way to answering how big a pot he has.

I'm hoping he stays because I do think he has a plan, I think its a plan Baines buys into and I hope Short sees the sense in backing him. I also am anything but inspired by any of the alternatives I have seen.

Coming to transfer funds I don't see he will get or need mega sums but he will I hope get cash from sales but a wedge from Short who despite the idea he did not spend last season did spend around 28 mi, not enough but spend all the same.

IMO spending has never been our main problem, what we have spent on has and in the championship we wont be competing with the big boys.

You may have noticed I refilled my glass straight after relegation was confirmed and its now at a more positive three quarter full.

Looking forward to Saturday but more looking forward to our last home game against Swansea.

Rumour has it that the reason M'Vila and Yedlin didn't come to us, and why Sam was unhappy before he went off to England job, was because Short would not sanction payments in full for them. Their selling clubs woulldn't sell otherwise hence they went elsewhere. It also explains another rumour that we have only paid out a couple of million so far for N'dong and Djilibodji and even Mcnair/Love etc, so have spent nowhere near the £34m in total that is claimed we spent. Only rumour but it does explain why we are where we are, so makes sense to me, but I guess we won't know unless someone can scrutinise the accounts.

As I have said on another thread, my guess is there will be a very small transfer pot, not even what we get from sales, as Short will want to pay off the loans to make us more attractive to a buyer. Of course the loans are all with finance companies of which he is a Director. So it ends up in his pockets one way or another Mad
