HULL CITY V SUNDERLAND--Match Day Thread
Saturday 6th May
KO 15.00
KCOM Stadium, West Park, Hull HU3 6HU
Probably a little to soon for many but its our next game and we may be down but with Hull and Swansea to play we could have a big say on who comes with us.
We go into the game pressure free and loot's of questions...
- Do we play our first team or the basis of nest seasons first team?
- Kone did OK today but just OK, right from the warm up he was disinterested, is it Pappy time?
- Defoe or one of the kids?
- Midfield?

Would keep the kids out until after the U23 final on May 17th. Don't want to wreck one of the few bright spots from our season!cyprussyd wrote:Saturday 6th MayKO 15.00KCOM Stadium, West Park, Hull HU3 6HUProbably a little to soon for many but its our next game and we may be down but with Hull and Swansea to play we could have a big say on who comes with us.We go into the game pressure free and loot's of questions...

Kone was at fault for their goal today according to radio commentary and as you say is totally disinterested, so maybe Papy should start.
Would keep Defoe in now as well as, again, now the pressure is off maybe he will get back his shooting boots. Working together with Anichebe at least produced chances.
It sounded like Honeyman did okay, so is it time for him to start?

Play the ones who will be here such as the U23s. plus N'dong, Picks etc.
Drop JD, Borini, Kone, the Everton contingent and a few others.

Well I'm looking forward to seeing the team selection and what sort of a reaction we get.

Will Moyes still be our manager at kick off?

These b*stards will probably lose deliberately to leave Hull safe so we have to travel to Swansea next season.

Rodwell, Denayer, Jones all available after injury. Larsson back from suspension. Pienaar (ankle) a doubt. Cattermole and Gibson out

TEAM NEWS
There are no new injury concerns for fourth-bottom Hull ahead of Saturday's match against Sunderland.
Dieumerci Mbokani could return after two games out with a hamstring problem, while Omar Elabdellaoui has overcome a back injury but is short of fitness.
Midfielder Sebastian Larsson is available for Sunderland after completing a three-match suspension.
Billy Jones, Jason Denayer, Jack Rodwell, Darron Gibson and Lee Cattermole are all fitness doubts.
MOTD COMMENTATOR'S NOTES
Guy Mowbray: "Hull this week, Swansea next. Sunderland might be down already but they could play a big part in who goes with them.
"After the furore surrounding Championship play-off hopefuls Huddersfield's team selection last week, David Moyes' plans for the remaining games will be interesting.
"Wouldn't Sunderland's best interests be served by a line-up of those players most likely to still be at the club next season? Moyes says he will be.
"Hull must simply do what they've done in six of the seven Premier League home games under Marco Silva. They must win. They MUST win - before watching Swansea versus Everton, cheering the Toffees.
"If they get the points to keep them in the top flight, keeping Silva would then be the challenge."
Twitter:@Guymowbray
WHAT THE MANAGERS SAY
Hull City head coach Marco Silva on reports linking him with other Premier League clubs: "For me nothing has changed. It is normal that it (speculation) will start now but we will never lose our focus and we have one goal in mind.
"I see my future today and tomorrow to prepare the team and I am focused on playing well and winning next Saturday. This is what is important - not what happens in two months.
"I prepare one day then the next day and the next game, and this is my way."
Sunderland manager David Moyes on his future: "I've got a four-year contract and I'll be Sunderland manager next season.
"I know what needs to be done to get back in the Premier League and I know what the requirements are to do that.
"I met with Martin (Bain) and Ellis (Short) this week and we had initial discussions about how we move forward. We will meet again in a few weeks."
LAWRO'S PREDICTION
Hull know their strong home form is crucial to them staying up and they know they cannot afford to drop any points at the KCOM Stadium.
Prediction: 2-0

Win/win for me today.
Win or even draw and I am happy, always like to see us do well.
Lose or play badly, it confirms who we need shot of.
I will be watching live whatever on Vip/box stream

Re: HULL CITY V SUNDERLAND--Match Day Thread
Slightly underwhelmed for this fixture, generally I enjoy the Hull games, as I went to University there which gives me an interest.
I hope we manage to score, as goals seem hard to come by lately, I only ever watch sky replays if we win so heres hoping we do win
Really what has my interest now, is Moyes yes or no, ownership and funds available for a rebuild. The feeling of moribundity has left now I want to start to look forward to next season and just forget this one.

From BBC Live Text just now and have to agree with him. I wish Moyes had gone for this lad from his old guard. I am sure he would have come and done a decent job for us. Better than Gibson IMO.

It's great when a manager comes in and takes the weight off, and puts it on his own shoulders. It frees the players a little bit, and it's so much easier to perform in that situation. That's just what Marco Silva has done at Hull.
David Moyes came in and immediately announced Sunderland were in a relegation battle right form the start. That put pressure on his players and forced them into a basement battle. To be honest, it was probably too soon in the season to be saying that if you're the manager.
