Anyone votes for Corbyn is sucking terrorist cock.
Anyone who can live with that then fine.
I just hope it doesn't come back to haunt you.

Re: General Election

Post  cyprussyd on 2017-04-28, 8:04 am

We are just over a week in to the general election campaign and I know I speak from a biased perspective but my feeling, one it seems shared by last nights question time audience, is that the different approaches from the main parties is working against the Tories.

But before I get to them, what about the other parties?

UKIP
Any swing to UKIP seems to have been lost with their change of leader, my feeling is that Paul Nuttall will be the first leader to resign on election day.
SNP
Cant see how they can improve in Scotland but the Tories could gain 1 or 2 seats there.
LibDems
Not a big fan of Tim Farron, good MP but poor leader IMO but could gain seats, more from Tory than Labour I feel.
Greens
Cant see them moving forward

So what about the main two?
Corbyns style of refusing to be flustered or join in with the name calling is I feel far more popular than the Boris approach. The Tory buzz phrases of "Strong and Stable" and "Coalition of Chaos" are already becoming boring and backfiring, again just my opinion.

Labour's main strength is also its biggest weakness, Jeremy Corbyn. Now I'm a Corbyn fan, don't agree with everything he believes in but then again that could be said about any politician but I do find him a nice change from the smart suited, on message, spin away politician we have become used to.
But again just my opinion I think focus of the public if not the media will quickly move away from May v Corbyn to Tory v Labour.

Those expecting a Tory landslide and who know Corbyn is simply unelectable may just be in for a surprise.

Hah yes 'repetitive cliche virus'! Very Happy

You have summarised my views too Syd, no surprise there. There is a long way to go but I am growing in confidence.

Now if only some of those with closed minds were prepared to open up a bit and look at policies not personalities.

This election is not about us today, but about the impact it could have on our children and grandchildren.  Brexit was a big cat among the pigeons and the hard option that May seeks, but will not debate, could affect them more than she will say.

I think she is between a rock and a hard place with a TV debate, nothing to gain and everything to loose but, she makes great play of how weak and hopeless Corbyn is and how strong and good she is so what is she afraid of?
