David Moyes' relegation-embattled Black Cats may well break the record for driest spell in history against Middlesbrough

SUNDERLAND’s 3-0 thumping at home to Manchester United all but confirmed what we already knew… they are certain to be relegated.
David Moyes‘ Black Cats have now picked up just 20 points from their 31 fixtures and are now ten points back from 17th-place Hull in the Premier League table.
Sunderland have now gone seven games without scoring a single goal
But it’s their current run which is most worrying for Sunderland supporters as they have failed to find the net in SEVEN matches.
Since their 4-0 hammering of Crystal Palace which gave fans hope, the Black Cats have lost six and drawn one of their next games, failing to find the net once.
During this horrific run, Sunderland have gone 675 minutes without finding the net - just 163 minutes shy of the all-time record of 838 set by the Eagles in 1995.
Should the Black Cats fail to score against West Ham at home or Middlesbrough away - due to the postponed clash with Arsenal - the unwanted record will be going to the Stadium of Light.
