Sunderland v West Ham United--Match-Day Thread

Post  cyprussyd on Mon Apr 10, 2017 9:15 am

SATURDAY APRIL 15TH
KO 15.00
STADIUM OF LIGHT

Another day at the mad house awaits and another day of hope more than expectation.

  • Will this be the day we finally end our goal drought?
  • Will this be the day we get that elusive win?
  • Will this be the day we long suffering fans get to cheer?

I will be in my usual seat, enjoying my chicken wrap and banter with those around and who knows, may even get the chance to top up my tan.

I will be there.

I fully expect to get beat.

I fully expect to be in a bad mood again watching our pathetic football (and I use that term loosely) team NOT EVEN TRY the soft b*stards.

I also fully expect to come home with a sore throat thru either cheering the aforementioned soft b*stards on or bawling at Moysy to try something different.

PS, for my sins I will still be there next season.

I have the rare opportunity to get to this game, but i have finally decided against. Reason, the last game i attended was home to Chelsea last season, and if i dont get to get to any more games i want that match to be a happy memory as my final game at the sol.

Fortunately RR no one can piss on my cornflakes, I'm looking forward to Saturday, I always do and other peoples upset, anger, negativity or whatever other words you wish to use dont spoil my enjoyment.

It looks like the dildo twins are trying to offload WHU. This could be a game we actually win BUT are we allowed to? Will we want to?

0-0 it is then.

BBC weather says Saturday in Sunderland will be sunny and breezy with high of 11 Celsius. Does that help? Very Happy

As I am still carrying a shoulder injury I am tempted by the football. If I thought we might score I would be even more tempted and if I thought we would win that would be the clincher

We can't keep a clean sheet, so we do NEED to score ...

Can't see it to be honest.

Hammers hope for happy travels and to fit in Koné scouting trip

Having given themselves some much-needed breathing space with last weekend’s win over Swansea City, West Ham get the opportunity to hammer another nail into Sunderland’s coffin when they visit the Stadium of Light. The trip will also give them ample opportunity to run the rule over Lamine Koné, a defender they have tried and failed to buy in each of the past two transfer windows. After playing a pivotal role in last season’s Great Escape, the Ivory Coast international incurred the wrath of Sunderland fans by railroading the club into offering him a new five-year contract before a ball had been kicked this season. Their mood has not improved since, as the amount of energy he expended signing it seems to have left him weak in the tackle and blessed with the positional sense of a drunk pedestrian trying to lurch across a busy three-lane dual carriageway. His decline has been startling and may well be temporary, but having been at fault for two of the goals Sunderland conceded against Manchester United last weekend, another poor performance this weekend could result in West Ham’s interest ending very abruptly. BG
