In defence of Mr Moyes

Post  cyprussyd on 2017-04-03, 3:03 pm

Moyes is under fire with Moyes out calls on social media and complaints about his dour style.

I can sort of understand it but, not that long ago Moyes was the most wanted manager in the premier league during his time at Everton. He joined United and was sacked but I would suggest anyone following Fergie would be sacked. He then tried his luck abroad and again he got the boot, 2 small blips IMO in an otherwise long and successful management career.

He then joined us and we all know the mountain he was asked to climb, injuries yes and I have read all teams get injuries, true but so many to key players and a transfer budget of next to nothing.

He brought in his pet players from Everton is another criticism, I think the term is beggars cant be choosers.

With 9 games to go we are still not down, very near yes but down, not quite yet, I would suggest that in itself is a minor miracle considering the hand he has been dealt.

Stay up or go down surely if nothing else we have learned that sacking managers does not work, indeed it has a lot to do with the mess we are in right now.

But if we do sack him who will be the next savoir to come in and how many defeats before we want him out?

Moyes makes some selections I would not agree with but then again I'm not the manager, that's why I pay to sit in the stands.

Its very easy to make the case for sacking a manager, we keep doing it and look at the mess its brought us.

He was on a hiding to nothing when he came and he knew it, why he came I don't know but I wont judge him on this season that's for sure.
Lets look at how he does in 12 months time.

If we start next season 'in trouble' I think he will be gone sooner rather than later.

But hopefully he will be able to steady the ship ....

Rotherham will be in league 1 next season. Their relegation was confirmed last Saturday!

I will but dont see the point, is it all Moyes fault? no blame on players, owner and his lack of backing or is it Moyes fault the players get injured?

I'm not a big Moyes fan but I do like to be fair.

Wank at Man U
How well have the two done who followed him despite spending millions?
wank in Spain

No idea but not the first to be sacked abroad
f*cking disaster here

How well would anyone have done given the same hand

Moyes certainly has made mistakes but to place all the blame on him is short sighted and unfair IMO

Aye, I can agree with you there.
Shorty is the main culprit imo Syd.

His so called old boy signings were players without clubs outside of the transfer window at first the second wave were redundant at Everton and cost little.  Leics did him no favours by refusing to sell Ulloa, and I rate Oviedo streets ahead of PvA in ability.
