What a fecking shambles

Post  cyprussyd on 2017-02-21, 1:21 pm

I use our little forum as a barometer of our club and its affect on we fans, its quiet because what can we say.

Relegation is, IMO, a mere side show, the mismanagement that is taken us to the brink of oblivion is the real concern.

In all my years supporting Sunderland I have seen a few highs and many lows but the present state of our club is becoming a low to beat all lows.

We have debts north of 140 mil, we are below bargain basement for player recruits, our premier status is perilous to say the least and I fear going down could see us slide and slide. To top it off our owner wants out so is commitment will be limited at best.

Today club staff where informed that some are to lose their jobs regardless of the division we are in next season and TBF what the CEO is doing is the right thing and probably is long over due but the timing leaves a sour taste.

How has the one time Bank of England club been allowed to plunge into these new depths?

Could it be lack of financial income?
Well 10 years in the premier league with the TV money it brings and sponsorship deals should say no.

Maybe its those games with half empty stadium?
Well we sit on an average of just over 41,000 so that cant be it.

So what or who is to blame?
Well I know its not me and I dont think its you.
I cant blame the players who did not ask to be bought.
Not sure we can blame the succession of managers who came, saved us then were sacked.

Could it be...

Ellis Short

Chairman of Sunderland A.F.C.

Short, Directors and Managers

10 years in the premiership and our best two assets are an aging striker and a young through the youth system goalkeeper.

Now if injuries had not crippled us...we might have had a chance.... everytime I see JD isolated up front with no or little support I could scream

Sad state of affairs, but something had to be done.

Redundancies a week after a trip to new York will be leaving a sour taste in the staff' mouths that are getting laid off....How poor is the club being run man....it's as though he's (Short) really trying his best cripple the club and do the worst he possibly can. I cant wait till the day I hear he's gone.....

Some in the press seem to forget that Mr Short's an astute businessman.
SAFC's a tidy little earner and he'd have been long gone if it's net-worth wasn't far outweighing it's debt.

Looking at the state of the club astute is the last word that comes to mind

Very simple for me in whatever business.

Success is building a business that bis successful, profitable and benefits the employees and customers.

Greed is allowing the business to fail while stripping the profits and assets.

I know my view.
