Sunderland boss David Moyes has four players on four bookings - one away from a ban - as the Black Cats head into the busy month of December

As if Sunderland’s lengthy injury list was not bad enough, Sunderland are also walking a disciplinary tightrope with four players currently one yellow card away from suspension.
The Black Cats go into this weekend’s game against Leicester City at the Stadium of Light with Steven Pienaar, Didier NdongBilly Jones, and Lynden Gooch, all with four cautions to their name so far this season.
Gooch is unlikely to trigger a ban, as he is expected to be out of action for some time after being stretchered off during Monday’s U23 game against Spurs at Eppleton with suspected ankle ligament damage.
But if any of the other three pick up a booking against the Foxes, they will be ruled out of next weekend’s crucial trip to relegation rivals Swansea City.
And even if they avoid a booking against Leicester, with the cut-off date for players receiving five cautions falling on December 31, they would have to keep their noses for another five games - against Swansea, Chelsea, Watford, Manchester United and Burnley - to dodge a ban during December and the first week of January.
