Real Betis boss Guy Poyet says Sunderland have a core problem and adds that the destiny of the club’s better players is to depart the Stadium of Light, the Guardian report.
The Black Cats, currently under the guidance of David Moyes, currently find themselves in a familiar position in the Premier League table as they begin the current campaign winless in seven.
Sunderland have flirted with relegation for a number of seasons now, and former boss Poyet is one of a few managers to have saved them from the drop only to be sacked the following campaign.
Speaking to the Guardian, the current Real Betis manager believes the Wearside club have a core problem and adds the destiny of their better players is to always leave once helping them stay up.
“There’s something inside Sunderland, something at its very core. It’s hard to explain but there’s a way of life, something deep down, that makes it difficult to fulfil its potential,” Poyet explained.
“A player has a good season, and [someone takes him]. It makes no difference if they give you £20m for him – £20m doesn’t replace him and doesn’t solve anything.”
“Now David Moyes is there and he has what’s been left him by previous coaches and you can’t go on like that. You just can’t. It’s impossible. Because when you start from zero every year – every year – you stay at zero.”
Sam Allardyce’s decision to leave Sunderland for the vacant England post in the summer left the club in a pickle, and new boss Moyes did not have long to stamp his mark in terms of first-team additions.
he likes of DeAndre Yedlin and Yann M’Vila returned to their parent clubs following the expiration of their loan deals, while speculation was rife over the future of star defender Lamine Kone.
Sunderland had plenty of voids to fill in the summer and it appears they have struggled to fill them, resulting in their poor start to the season and the desperate need for the upcoming January transfer window.

An analysis from the manager who produced a miracle to keep us up but had no idea how he had done it. Says it all really, but maybe he was feeling felt out of the previous article in the Telegraph from other managers.

Only MON left to interview.

I hope Moyes stays, keeps us up and gradually builds us into the solid mid table teamhe did with Everton. Hopefully even flirt with a top 6 finish in 3/4 seasons time.

There are about 5/6 clubs you  know will fill the top places in the EPL but Leicester showed that it can be broken into so why not us.

There is only one problem mate the one common denominator over the last 6/7 seasons. Not managers or players but people at the top.

Our core problem is very easily identified...our first 11 is barely good enough for the Premier League....when we have injuries to the first 11, the replacements are not good enough.

The solution to this is simple get more and better players in....if we buy a dud, do not winge and hang onto him...move on and buy another player.

The fact that Roswell is still getting a game illustrates the cote problem....I. e. He is playing for us and is just not good enough
