Penalty Shoot Outs

Post  Hieronymus on 2016-08-19, 10:52 pm

After watching the second half of the Gold Medal match of the Women's Hockey I propose that football should adopt a hockey style penalty shoot out system for drawn games in tournaments. So much more exciting and less tiring for players not playing extra time.

Only watched second half, after the Man Utd game finished but never thought I would enjoy a game of hockey so much. The GB women were under the cosh but battled and battled and finally won on penalties partly due to a fantastic display by the goalkeeper. Well done GB Women's hockey team - GOLD Medal winners!! fi

An enthralling game and the keeper certainly kept us in it in real time and then penalty shoot out. I may switch to hockey soon.
