Doctors are saying its just a matter of time.
He is in intensive care.

Hate boxing, love Ali.

Sounds like pneumonia is setting in and it is such a shame to see such an athlete fade away like that.

Probably the only sportsman in the world you could show a photograph of and would be recognised.

A life not wasted and an inspiration for the civil rights movement and the dignity of negroes in America. Not bad for a bloke who was broadly criticised for being un-American (whatever that is).

RIP.

I have never been a boxing fan, don't really understand the fights or the support, but i know ali was a great entertainer. My first memories of boxing was what my grandad told me when i was young, he was a great fan of Marciano. I believe he died relatively young.

I am quite emotional to wake up to this news. Yet another defining character from my childhood and youth is now gone. Crying or Very sad

Muhammad Ali "the Greatest", not only a brilliant sportsman but an exceptional human being, who fought prejudice and hate with humour, charm and dignity, and a man who gave us all hope for a better future.

RIP

He was one incredible guy to grow up wat ching what he said and did.

Actually the rumble in the jungle  turned me off boxing....The sheer awesome brutality of action...I felt like somebody looking at some murder scene.

I agree. I am not also a great fan but his name was so big that he was truly a legend. He will never be replaced.

It's very, very rare for a sportsman to be respected and I would say loved by do many who hate the particular sport.

Many could not stand him when he was boxing but I bet most could not resist watching him.
