RIP Don Howe

Another old 'un departed today and one who had a quietly effective career as a perfect right hand man who just lived and breathed football. A class player, brilliant coach of the Arsenal double winning team and from the era of "footballing" full backs. Held in such high regard in footballing circles that Bobby Robson had him as an assistant during his England manager days. Even carried Bobby Gould's Wimbledon over their win against LFC in the cup final.

Never sought glory or fame but just wanted to be involved in football. Between him, Bobby and Jimmy Hill there will be some fair old discussions in Heaven or Hell, mbut all for the good of the game.
