Livermore has avoided suspension after testing positive for cocaine in May! Undoubtedly the loss of a new born child is horrendously difficult to cope with, but is there ever any excuse for taking class A drugs with no fear of punishment?

Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore will not be banned after testing positive for cocaine.
The 25-year-old was suspended by the Football Association and his club in May after failing a drug test, pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing.
The England international, who faced a possible two-year ban, tested positive after the death of his newborn child.
"There's no question it was a mitigating factor," said Hull manager Steve Bruce to the BBC last month.
"Unfortunately he lost his baby just after the FA Cup final last year.
"Jake has kept all of the problems that he had to himself. All footballers think they are macho-men but they have problems like everybody else."
A disciplinary hearing took place last week at which it was decided Livermore would not be suspended.
Livermore joined Hull from Spurs for £8m in August 2014 after a season-long loan, making 35 league appearances last season as the Tigers were relegated to the Championship.

I think being banned for at least a few games would have been appropriate as using cocaine is illegal after all! And it is a stimulant so may have had an effect on performance in the game before he was tested. An athlete would have been banned for 2 years no questions asked,

But yes it is very sad for anyone whose newborn baby does not survive, and that MIGHT be considered a mitigating factor, although it is still not an excuse.

With all due respect to his lost child, the death had happened twelve months earlier so testing positive one year later must carry a penalty of some kind.

He uses it because of the need to feel better about himself since stumbling upon the realisation of being such a thick shit that he become clinically depressed.

Cocaine is NOT a performance enhancing drug, rather an option for non-achieving players as a way of experiancing the euphoria of scoring on it when they can only do so off it... Basketball
