Sunderland head coach Dick Advocaat: "The way we played, free of thinking about going down, was really good in some parts. We gave cheap goals but they deserved it.
"I will give that answer on my future next week. The players have responded excellently, with their commitment to the club, to get 12 points makes me very proud of them.

"My assistant said to me we made the impossible, possible. I have a big decision to make this week."

That and his letter says to me he has made his decision mate, or more likely it was made for him. Not by his wife but, by ES and his lack of ambition for our club, so more of the same next season for us fans but, if it is the same I doubt we will pull out of it as we have gradually got worse and worse.
I also doubt we fans will be attending in the 41+ thousands again, unfortunately the only way we can get our message to ES.
Having said that if ES provides funds for whoever is in charge next season and, more importantly allows him full control over transfers etc. something else that I think will be a sticking point with whoever we get.

He won the Champions League, Super Cup & Copa del Rey, but Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked as Real Madrid manager.

As both Short and Advocaat were together on Saturday, if they had agreed the future we would have heard about it then. I think the negotiations are serious, and they are to do with the level of investment and support Advocaat would receive. He could still walk, but as above, that says more about the club's ambitions rather than the man...

I thought the same as you at first but think they might have said " We are all waiting to hear if Dick Advocaats wife has given him the green light to take the job." Because he went on to say something like we will find out soon.
