Tiger Woods!

Post  canary-dave on 2015-03-30, 8:45 am

Who would have thought it?

Tiger Woods has dropped out of the world's top 100 golfers for the first time since 1996.
The 14-time major winner, who has spent a record 683 weeks as world number one during his career, has fallen to 104 in the latest official rankings.
The 39-year-old American has not played since withdrawing from the Farmers Insurance Open on 6 February.
Woods has said he is "hopeful" of a return for the first major of the year, the Masters, starting on 9 April.
After withdrawing from February's event at Torrey Pines with back problems, Woods announced he would be taking an indefinite break from the sport, describing his performances this year as "unacceptable for tournament play".
Woods, who carded an 82 at the Phoenix Open in January - his worst round as a professional - added that he won't return until he can "compete at the highest level".
The last time Woods was outside the top 100 in the world was in September 1996 when he was ranked 225.
The following week, he won the Las Vegas Invitational as a 20-year-old for the first of his 79 PGA Tour victories.

Age, injury and scandals have all caught up with him I think and he may never play at the top level again. A shame as it was Tiger that got me interested n golf and watching golf. I had never had the slightest interest before but he was such a machine and it was great to watch him.

I would love to think he can come back from his latest attack of the yips but am not sure he has the will to do so, knowing he will never be the best again.

I hope I am wrong, and maybe he will take this as is biggest challenge yet.

It comes to all sports men and woman but at least when you are Tiger Woods you know its no zero hour contract or worries about welfare cuts
