Man City v Sunderland (12:45 BST)

After the drama of their Champions League draw with Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City need to go into the international break on the back of an unspectacular, straightforward win with a clean sheet, and they definitely don't need their goalkeeper Joe Hart to be their best player.

Mancini has made changes to Manchester City's defence this season

I was at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday and I was really disappointed by City, as good as Dortmund were of course.

Roberto Mancini can't see the wood for the trees. His side are conceding goals and looking vulnerable defensively so why not go back to the players and playing style that they used when they were so good at the back last season?

I think the reason he doesn't fancy Joleon Lescott because he thinks he gives the ball away too much. But surely it is better to lose possession and play well defensively than be a brilliant passer and have no idea at the back.

Vincent Kompany was by far and away the best defender in Europe last season but he is drowning at the moment because Mancini keeps chucking different people in alongside him and at full-back.

City just need to get settled and go back to the way it was but Mancini has turned into the Tinkerman.

After they were thrashed 6-1 by City last season, Manchester United tightened up and won their next three league games 1-0 - Mancini needs to do the same now.

I do think City will beat the Black Cats but Mancini needs to pick hard-working players like James Milner because Martin O'Neill's side will not give them an inch.

Prediction: 2-0

Isn't it amazing how we all think that when Lawro predicts for us he's wrong!! He's absolutely shite

Someone argued "He had Sunderland in a close position to where we were in the league" - what they failed to mention was that he got almost every result wrong - regardless of where he had us in the league!!

Would take a draw now!
