The Coop Party Empty The Coop Party

Should the coop party either leave the Labour party and stand alone or give up the coop party and simply be Labour?

With 31 MP's they could be a bigger force than UKIP and the Greens and could even be a viable alternative for the undecided like me.

I could be tempted to vote for them

Surely the original Rochdale Co-op members were almost pure Labour Party!

Yes but I'm not sure what your point is

I guess I'm thinking they will be persuaded to remain with Labour rather than giving the Tories a chance to win the day!

Launching our policy agenda for May 2015
View this email in your browser

Dear syd hutchinson

Today we’re launching ‘A Co-operative Agenda for Britain’, the culmination of two years of work together on our policy process.

It sets out plans for an economy and society that puts people first, in which the rewards of economic success are shared by all.

Click here to read 'A Co-operative Agenda for Britain'
Click here for a downloadable PDF

Our vision for Britain in the coming years is an exciting one:

 • An economy in which employees have the right to bid for the business they work for when it comes up for sale, and in which the profits are shared.
 • Fixing our broken markets in housing, banking and energy, putting the interests of the consumer before private profit.
 • Changing our public services to keep them rooted in communities and giving a voice to the people they serve.
 • Ensuring that abroad, trade works for the world’s poorest, and that we lead the way to a low-carbon economy

Historic co-operative values and principles applied to the problems of today.
That’s the co-operative difference – will you join me in spreading the word?

 • Click here to share the agenda on Facebook

At lunchtime today I was on the BBC Daily Politics explaining the role of the Party and our ideas, as well as the impact we’re having on Labour’s policy platform going in to May.

You can watch the clip here.

And we have the next 100 days to make it happen!

Yours in co-operation

Karin Christiansen
General Secretary

I would be tempted but for one thing, to break away from Labour would create two smaller parties allowing the Tories to sail in virtually unopposed and finish the country completely!

Well I am done with voting for a party I have doubts about just to stop the other so I am stuck. My hope is we can get a run of hung parliaments and then get PR so at least we have the chance of getting a government we voted for.

I dont have an answer, wish I did then I could just vote for it.

I would willingly vote for a Sensible Party, but knowing that if they were elected they would enter a crazy world and would have to change to survive.
