Pardew to Palace

Post  cyprussyd on 2014-12-28, 9:54 pm

I know some will say they have no interest in Newcastle but I think this deserves to be on the main board.

Love them or hate them they are our biggest rivals and this is a NE footballing story and could have affects on our season.

Will Pardew save Palace and how will that affect us?

Alan Pardew scurried out of St James's Park last night unwilling to take questions about this win.
The Newcastle manager is a wanted man. Not by a significant number of fans on Tyneside who have been demanding his exit for months.
He is wanted by managerless Crystal Palace.
The message was clear. Pardew did not want to deny his interest in the Palace job.A club he still loves, where he is a hero from his playing days, and a club back on home territory.
Who could blame him if he goes out on this high, after months enduring the Pardew Out campaign?
As Newcastle head into the New Year in a healthy league position of ninth, their comfortable position is more of a threat than something to celebrate on Tyneside.

Who would blame the gentleman for moving on.

If he was to go to Palace it could prove to be the difference for SAFC of staying up or going down....just food for thought.

Even made the Sky news over here as they said a compensation deal was in final stages. They didn't say how much Newcastle were giving Palace.

Jurgen Klopp has turned down the Newcastle United job, but his brother Klippity is said to be giving it serious consideration

Looks like terms have been agreed by Palace and Newcastle. Not sure this is a good move for either of them really.

Alan Pardew: Crystal Palace given permission to start talks
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been given permission to talk to Crystal Palace about taking over at Selhurst Park.
The two clubs have agreed compensation for Pardew to succeed Neil Warnock, who was sacked on Saturday.
Pardew will not take training on Tuesday, Newcastle confirmed.
Palace are without a manager after dismissing Warnock just four months into his second spell in charge of the South London club.
Newcastle released a statement  on Monday night confirming assistant manager John Carver will take training instead.
It said: "Crystal Palace have offered compensation at a level whereby Alan has now been permitted to speak to them."
The Eagles are in the Premier League relegation zone after winning only three league games this season.

Let's have a conspiracy about why he would leave such gratifying job. Having been given the early nod by Ashley that he is going to sell out to a huge oil company when the next set of accounts are due out he is getting a change whilst the going is good.

Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini, 32, is in the frame for the job at St James' Park if Alan Pardew leaves. (The Independent)
Newcastle have, though, targeted former Stoke and Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis to replace Pardew. (Sun - subscription required)
Pardew will double his salary at Crystal Palace if his move from Newcastle to Selhurst Park is finalised. (Mirror)

BBC Newcastle Total Sport

Statement from Newcastle United:
Newcastle United can confirm that Crystal Palace have made a formal approach requesting permission to speak to Alan Pardew in relation to their vacant managerial position.
Crystal Palace have offered compensation at a level whereby Alan has now been permitted to speak to them.
As a result of this development today (Monday), Alan will not be at training on Tuesday. Training will be the responsibility of assistant manager John Carver.
The Club will make a further announcement in due course.

It looks like he will be gone today but

who will take over?
will it make Newcastle stronger or weaker?
will it have any affect on us?

Pullis is up there but we know that Pullis walks from clubs that interfere, hardly a perfect fit for Newcastle. With the transfer window about to open and Ashleys record at selling will we see a big exodus of their good players?

The only affect on us will be if we are dragged into a relegation fight but cant help but be interested.

Steve Bruce interested in replacing Alan Pardew as Newcastle United manager

  • Steve Bruce could replace Alan Pardew as Newcastle boss

  • Pardew will soon be named as the new Crystal Palace manager

  • Hull manager Bruce is willing to work with Magpies owner Mike Ashley

PARDEW BECOME PALACE BOSS

Alan Pardew becomes new Crystal Palace boss as Newcastle United thrash out £2million compensation deal with Eagles

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is interested in replacing Alan Pardew as manager of Newcastle United and would be willing to work with owner Mike Ashley.
The Geordie boss is under increasing pressure at Hull after Sunday’s defeat at home to Leicester left them one place above the relegation zone on goal difference only.
And Bruce – who was sacked by Sunderland three years ago - would jump at the chance of a return to his native North East and the club he supported as a boy.

well, he appeared to always give 100%, which is all we can expect from players.

He certainly didn't hide in the derbies, and he scored too, unlike a certain Chopra ....
