If this story as posted is true, then it is very sad. All this sort of stuff just reinforces my relief that he is no longer at the SoL. We don't need this type of publicity from any source. I appreciate that he is adored by some on here -that means nothing tp me - but all clubs need stability and consistency to flourish which the likes of Gus seem to be striving to establish, IMHO.

But if Cleverley did not leak the Villa bustup story, and clearly he did not, then who leaked this story about cctv pictures, etc ? :

QUOTE - " Roy Keane Tried To Confront Manchester United Loanee At His House Over Aston Villa Bust-Up Rumours
by Tom Seymour December 18th, 2014

Cleverley almost felt the wrath of Keane.

Aston Villa loanee Tom Cleverley had a narrow escape after Roy Keane came to his house to confront him about rumours of a bust-up in the dressing room, according to the Sun.

It is alleged that Keane believed the on-loan Manchester United midfielder was behind the stories claiming he left his position at Villa Park due to a training ground falling out.

According to reports, the day before the Irishman left his post as Paul Lambert’s assistant manager on November 30 he was involved in a confrontation at the club’s Bodymoor Heath base.

Forward Gabriel Agbonlahor is said to be the player on the end of Keane’s fury and leaked reports of this were believed to have come from Cleverley.

The 43-year-old spent 15 minutes ringing the doorbell of the Englishman’s Chesire home before eventually leaving – but the Red Devils legend was caught on CCTV.

Keane no longer believes that Cleverley was the man who started the rumours, with Villa still insisting the former United man left his post to concentrate on being Marin O’Neill’s No.2 for the Republic of Ireland national team.

It has been a busy year for the ex-midfielder, who as well as getting back into football also released his second autobiography ‘The Second Half’ – which featured controversial comments on Sir Alex Ferguson.

Yes I think Keane came to us just at the right time and did a lot for us, his professionalism in football and will to win are admirable qualities.

Sadly for him these qualities will always be destroyed by his dark side, I would say there is a thug in him that he just cant control and its that thuggish side that will always destroy him, at his age I cant see him getting rid of it.

So he may be good TV but I am quite happy if we just see him at the SoL in the media box.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has confirmed his former assistant Roy Keane did turn up at Tom Cleverley's house this week.

However, he insists the incident has been blown out of proportion by the media, who reported that Keane stood ringing the doorbell for 15 minutes seeking an argument.
Keane, who stepped down from his Villa Park role to focus on his position as Republic of Ireland assistant manager, supposedly wanted a showdown about recent 'leaks' from the dressing room from his time at the club.
Lambert said: "I spoke to Tom this morning briefly, and he assures me that what is being portrayed is certainly not what happened. That was it, really.
"I think you should give the guy a break."

"I've probably spoken about Roy more since he's left than when he was here. I think you should give the guy a break. From the brief chat I had with Tom, it certainly wasn't how it was portrayed. That was what Tom told me this morning."
Various stories about Keane's spell at Villa Park have emerged in recent weeks including an allegedly difficult relationship with vice-captain Gabriel Agbonlahor, but Lambert insisted he had no problem with his former assistant.
Lambert added: "I spoke to Roy. We're good pals, not just in this regard but we're good pals in general and that will always be the same. Roy's obviously got his Ireland role to contend with and work on, trying to qualify for Euro 2016.
"There's no problem on that side. He's my pal. I spoke to Tom and the matter is finished."
Villa take on Manchester United on Saturday and Lambert has said that he will be forced to promote an academy player to the bench just to make up the numbers.
