The 19-year-old Chesterfield born Italy U20 international has been offered a new contract by the beaten League Cup semi-finalists.

But the forward has failed to agree new terms and United are now ready to sell.

De Girolamo scored in the FA Cup last week but was left out of the squad against Tottenham in midweek as he ponders his future.

Sunderland have also shown strong interest in recent months but the Italian champions have monitored his progress with the national team and want to take him to Turin.

On the BBCSport last day of transfer thread is a question of will Arsenal sign a defensive midfielder. Hypothetically the man to fit any bill in that department would be Cattermole whose absence because of mystery injury could be seen in another light since we almost sold him to Stoke this time last year.

Just thought I would chuck it in since they have a need and we have several that could be solved by their squad players.

A good chuck in and if they did want Catts it would be yes,no,yes, no from me.

Catts would be a big miss, well would he, depends who we could get back and if Rodwell could fill that spot, I dont think Bridcutt can.

The former Lille man is a deadline day target for the Premier League sides.

West Ham and Sunderland are reportedly planning a move for Galatasaray defender Aurelien Chedjou. The report from Turkish source Net Gazete both Premier League clubs are keen on bringing in the Cameroonian from the Turkish giants before the Transfer Window shuts tomorrow evening.

The former Lille man however is a wanted commodity. It is reported by the same report that Gala are also fighting off the advances of Rennes, Dynamo Kiev and an official bid from French side AS Monaco.

Chedjou joined up with Gala in 2013 and has become a regular in the Turkish club's back line in the past year.

West Ham are sweating over the contract of Winston Reid, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer by The Mirror this weekend.

Meanwhile Sunderland are battling relegation. The club could do with defensive reinforcements, with veterans Wes Brown and John O'Shea currently their leading defensive options and Sebastian Coates in reserve, Sunderland could certainly do with top quality reinforcements.

Chedjou, who has recently returned from a disappointing campaign with the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations, has played 22 games this season, scoring two goals for the club.
